Notley Green Community Centre is sited in the village centre of Great Notley to the south of Braintree.
The Community Centre was completed in 1995 and is owned by Braintree District Council (BDC).
NGCA was formed and officially constituted on 1 February 1996 to manage the Centre on behalf of BDC for the benefit of the local residents in Great Notley and, for historical reasons, Black Notley (the Benefit Area). NGCA Community Centre was officially opened by HRH The Princess Royal on 12 November 1996.

Objectives
To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the parishes of Great Notley and Black Notley. Defined by the parish boundaries without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions, by associating together the said inhabitants and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants
To establish, or secure the establishment of a community centre, and to maintain and manage the same (whether alone or in co-operation with any local authority or other person or body) in furtherance of these objects.
To promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined.
